Sharon Yogel – Sharon is the team’s lead coach, and is passionate about maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle. Sharon has completed 10 marathons in 5 years traveling worldwide to exciting locations including Rome, Italy. She coached her first marathon team while running her 11th marathon in Boston and helped raise close to 100,000 dollars for Kevin Youkilis Charity Hits for Kids. In 2014 She led the Music Drives Us charity Team on their emotional Boston Marathon journey just a year past the tragic bombings.
For the past 11 years, Sharon has been serving on the Board of Directors of Suburban Striders Running Club in Weston, MA giving support to women runners of all levels. She is currently also serving on the Board of the Arredondo Family Foundation. Sharon is a certified USATF track and field Coach. She thoroughly enjoys helping other runners go the distance and is honored to be chosen to lead this fine group!
Nils Johnson – Nils was born and raised in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts. Although he ran track in high school, he didn’t become an avid runner until the past few years, after returning to his hometown from Cambridge, MA, to settle down with his family. He has worked in the restaurant/bar industry for almost 20 years. He owns a local pub in Fairhaven, MA, called The Bitter End. He also co-owns The Inn on Shipyard Park in Mattapoisett.
Over the past decade, he has aspired to run the Boston Marathon before his fortieth birthday. With a deadline of July 2016, he plans to reach his goal this year. In support of this goal, he has spent the past few years, running monthly road races, as well as the New Bedford half-marathon. He has also competed in the Tough Mudder and Blue One.
Jeffrey P. Sanders – Jeffrey Sanders resides in Mattapoisett, MA with his wife Lynn and two boys, Will and Teddy. Mr. Sanders is an Attorney with Winslow and Associates located in Mattapoisett practicing the areas of Real Estate and Business Law. Prior to law school, Mr. Sanders completed an internship with the White House Internship Program working in the Office of the Vice President of the United States as a liaison in the Advance and Scheduling Department.
Currently Mr. Sanders is on the Board of Directors of the South Coast Business Alliance and is a member of the South Coast Chapter of BNI. In addition, he is the Treasurer of the New Bedford Half Marathon and a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. In his spare time Mr. Sanders is an avid runner and races his sail boat throughout New England during the summer.
Yadires Nova-Salcedo – Yadires is the host and producer of “Centro,” a weekly WBZ-TV news segment that examines issues of the Latino community including education, politics, current events and entertainment. She is also the executive producer and director of “Encuentro Latino,” a weekly, hour-long Spanish language TV show with local, national and international coverage. Nova-Salcedo was born in the Dominican Republic and was raised in the Greater Boston area. She graduated from Emerson College in Boston in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism. She currently lives in Canton with her husband, daughter and son.
Brian Wood – Born and raised in Canada and reside in Brantford, Ontario with my wife Lori and children Hannah (23) and Payton (19). I have been an avid cyclist and runner for many years competing in many local runs and Bike charity rides. I participated in three marathons, New York, Ottawa and Columbus and look forward to running in Boston.
I have an Economics degree from Acadia University in Nova Scotia graduating in 1983. Professionally I am President of Con Cast Pipe, we have supplied precast concrete products for Ontario’s roads and Bridges since 1989.
I can’t wait to meet everyone on the Arredondo Family Foundation Marathon Team and raising funds for this worthy cause.
